The city changes character after rain. So do the objects we choose to take with us.

The window has the river in it, and the river has the lights in it. Platform Lamp 02 lights the record sleeve and nothing else. The flask, filled at breakfast, still pours hot.

Honest objects

Rain is a good test. The umbrella that turns inside out and back again, the bag that comes home dry inside, the headphones that do not need charging on the night bus: they show what they are made of on a wet Tuesday, not in a showroom.
